Restrict Time Punch Shortcut for Staff Types

The purpose of this guide is to show the administrator how to remove access to the Time Punch link on the start page and attendance sections for specific Staff Types. Access to this link allows the staff member to edit clock punches for students.

 

IMPORTANT: You must be logged in to the administrator account to complete these steps

 

To restrict access, follow the steps below,

1.  Log in or navigate to the start page of the Administrator account

2.  Click on Setup & Customization.

3.  Click on Customization at the bottom of the list.

4.  On the Filter line enter "Staff Types."

5.  Click on Staff Types link.

6.  Click on the Staff Type name that needs to be edited.

7.  The following settings need to be changed to: View Only.

    a)  Staff Records = No Access

    b)  Attendance Record = View Only

        Student_Attendance_View_only.png

     c)  Attendance Sheets = View Only

        Acdemica_Attendance_Sheets_View_Only.png

8.  Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the "Save" button.

 

This will block your staff member from using the Time Punch short cut on the right of their start page.

This will still allow the staff member to enter student attendance directly from the student record, if they still need to do so.
