1098-T Reports - Upload IRS Form

Prestige Student Management Systems

Introduction:

The purpose of this document is to provide the specifications for filing of Forms 1098, electronically with the IRS FIRE system. Electronic reporting of information returns eliminates the need for electronic filers to file paper documents with the IRS.  The IRS does not accept paper file documents for the 1098 so it is incumbent on the school to create an extract file and distribute it to the IRS FIRE system.

The IRS data file from Prestige is a consolidated file for all the school locations.  It reports data on every student that paid tuition to the school for the tax year. Once run the file creates a data extract to be uploaded to the IRS site.
